Dr. Caitlin Fay was born and raised in Southern California. She spent her childhood chasing butterflies and using her first aid kit to bandage her stuffed animals. She always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and worked as a technician in a small animal hospital through high school and during summers off from college. While in college, she worked as an animal trainer and volunteered working at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Dr. Fay graduated with her bachelors of arts in creative writing and bachelors of science in biology in 2008. Upon graduation from college, she obtained a masters of science in evolutionary behavior working with coyotes and a skunk robot she custom built for her project to study coyote learning behaviors. The next step was veterinary school at Washington State University, where Dr. Fay further pursued her passion for animal behavior, and also developed interest in preventative care, internal medicine, and client communication. She graduated with her doctorate in veterinary medicine in May 2021. In her free time, Dr. Fay enjoys tabletop games, cooking, curling up with a good book, enjoying the southern California sunshine, and dangling things in front of her two black cats (Peanuts and Figment). She is so excited to be a part of the Plaza del Amo Animal Hospital family!
