Dr. Laura Alexander was born and raised in Southern California. During high school she worked at a horse rescue that worked with children to rehabilitate the animals. She attended undergraduate at Cal Poly Pomona pre-veterinary program, while working on the colleges farm.  

Dr. Alexander attended veterinary school at the University of Missouri.  Following graduation, she moved to Southern Illinois for her first position at a rural practice. She developed an interest in dentistry, internal medicine and acupuncture.

Dr. Alexander spends her free time with her dog Fezzik learning agility. She enjoys curling up with a good book with her cat Ev lying right next to her.  She's a great artist, which can be seen throughout our hospital.
